Hewlett Packard
Branded Short-form Documentaries
Hewlett Packard Enterprise came to The Atlantic to help them tell the story of their most transformative innovation to date and expand people’s perceptions of the brand beyond laptops and home printers.
My team created a ~7-minute mixed-media film about exascale computing and the impact it could have on humanity. The film, Eighteen Zeros, was so well received that HPE came to us the next year to create a follow-up film — Moral Code — this time focusing on the moral questions we must grapple with as we develop artificial intelligence.
For both films, I led research, story development, and casting of experts and executives, including Tim Urban of Wait But Why, and I worked closely with our directors to develop the visual approach. I also oversaw our shoots across New York and the Bay Area to ensure we captured the narrative in a way that would feel as valuable to viewers as it was positive for HPE.
